Jurassic Punk's Anniversary

Earlier this year, we celebrated the Jurassic Punk's birthday. It's been many long years, full of ups and downs, great films, mediocre films and a few Mortal Kombat films.

I mean, my god, they were still making Lethal Weapon movies when the site started. Andy Dufresne had just escaped from Shawshank, Forest Gump's bus bench was still warm. Vincent Vega and Mia Wallace had just finished dancing, William Wallace's cry for freedom still echoed in our ears, and Neo didn't even know Kung Fu yet!

So how old is the Punk? Well it's older than Matt Damon's career. It's older than Fargo, and older than The Big Lebowski and Saving Private Ryan. It's even older than Google.

So how long have we been around? Over 15 years. That's 15 years of movie trailers, teasers and clips. 15 years of releases both big and small. Surprises, let downs and oh so many sequels.

From our humble beginnings as a small site on GeoCities' Hollywood neighborhood, to becoming a growing independent site with its own dedicated high speed line to the internet backbone, we've grown alongside the internet.

It has been a phenomenal ride watching the web grow from a small community, where movie lovers could find that rare trailer in eye popping 320x240 resolution, to the basic human right it is today, where anyone can instantly find free movie download.

So what does the future hold for Jurassic Punk, and for viewing trailers online?

These days, we are hard at work on modernizing the site, completely rebuilding it from the ground up to be a community driven source of news and film info. And most important of all… a constantly updated source of trailers.

We put the most emphasis into the "constantly updated" part. The new Jurassic Punk will always be up to date with the latest movie info from around the web, which will support our true core - a library of high quality, downloadable trailers, teasers and clips.

Our goal is to make the site a complete source of information for every movie out there, including complete information, posters, photos, and of course trailers… Because what are films, without the trailers which precede them, promote them, and in many cases… outshine them.

So if you are worried about the lack of updates on our site, know that it is all for a great cause… We are making the site bigger, better and faster… and please pardon the dust while we tidy the place up.
